Why Content Is Important For SEO

Content is key element in creating a good SEO. Although Google algorithms have advanced in identifying different elements, keyword still remains the building blocks to find various information in the digital world.

The various algorithms Google uses to sort through content are also known as Google’s Governing Principles. Few of them are listed below:

1. Panda:

This algorithm is used to detect any form of infringement, spam or loading a webpage with keywords or numbers to manipulate a site’s ranking in Google search results (also called as KEYWORD STUFFING).

2. Penguin:

Penguin algorithm works toward ensuring that relevant links are given for the websites while manipulative and spam links are reduced.

3. Pigeon:

This new algorithm improves Google’s location ranking criteria. It provides more useful, relevant and accurate local search results that are visible within Google maps and googles web search results.

4. Hummingbird:

This algorithmic name has been derived from the speed and accuracy of the hummingbird. This update looks deeper at contents in individual pages of a website with the ability to lead the users directly to the appropriate webpage rather than the website’s homepage.

5. Rank Brain:

This is an algorithm based on learning of artificial intelligence systems. It helps Google to provide more relevant search results for users. Rank Brain strives to guess what people mean and accordingly records the results, which provides better user satisfaction.

6. Mobile:

The main use of this algorithm is to give priority to those websites that have good responsiveness on smartphones and other mobile devices. This is supposed to increase the effect of mobile-friendly rankings.

7. Possum:

This update focuses specifically on providing more accurate local search results making local SEO more competitive. This is the largest update that has been rolled out by Google after Pigeon in 2014.

8. Fred:

This algorithm is not something that can be taken lightly by any business with an online presence. In this algorithm only those URL’s get affected that are focused on generating revenues from ads and not on solving the user problems. It down ranks those contents that are over saturated with reference links and ads.

9. Pirate:

Pirate is used to helping target different features of the web. This algorithm is similar to both Penguin and Panda. Pirate algorithm focuses and dismisses that website that google diagnosis to be in direct breach of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA).

Conclusion:

It’s time to impress Google’s algorithm by focusing more on

  • Multimedia content creation
  • High quality writing
  • Actionable web design
  • Mobile optimization
  • Organic and paid social content.

It has become very competitive for any business with a digital presence in the Google sphere. The only way to be on the top is to make sure that your content is everything while focusing on SEO.
